The CEO Magazine chats with Dr. Vahini Reddy

TCM: What was your dream as a business lady?

Vahini: I have decided to add value to leverage people throughout the globe and initiated to work with a steady growth to set PAN India operation first and then spread the business globally which looks not too far.

TCM: What is your greatest professional accomplishment till date?

Vahini: I love asking people the question ‘what has been your biggest achievement?’ It allows me to find out more about what makes a person tick, what drives them, what they value in life. My greatest achievement of life is ‘to know myself and be myself’. In my younger days, I used to be like the people who are considered to be successful. However, soon I realized that there is no fixed formulae of success and everyone succeed in their own way. I have always been positive towards my work and massively conducting Leadership Trainings Programmes in MENA region and Mentoring 20 Nationalities in Euro Mediterranean region for United Nations Industrial Development Organizations, Entrepreneurs for Social Change Programme. I have been honored by Rex Karmaveera Chakra Global Fellowship a coveted award launched with then for the years 2015 & 2016 consecutively for social initiatives and individual social responsibility nd recognizd as unsung heroes of society. In addition to, I got Endorsement letter for 3 years from Central Govt.  Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship to launch UNIDO’s E4SC programme as Project Head for entire Asian and Fareast Asian region. Now I am starting a self-supported cause, VR Oneness Foundation®.

TCM: Have you ever failed in your initiatives? What have you learnt from your failures?

Vahini: Before Evolve Excellence HR Services Pvt. Ltd, I had a secondary school in Hyderabad which has been taken away by partners in an uncertain situation. This was almost 16 years ago. That was my first failure in profession. My lack of process knowledge and unbalanced approach toward personal and professional life led to this failure. I have learnt that while we set a clear objective, we must also have knowledge on various processes. As a Visionary you may see the big picture, so it is you who must have the long term and short term strategies in place because others may not be able to see what you see.

Now I follow my own set parameter to work that is “7 C’ mantra” – 1) Courage, 2) Communication 3) Character 4) Consistency 5) Compassionate 6) Corrective 7) Charismatic.

TCM: What stimulated your ideas to start a new business venture or to bring significant changes in an existing business/at work place?

Vahini: The idea was to work on social cause that empowers and educated women and youth to make decisions that shape their sustainable life. Seeking donations for this cause was not my idea. So I started with Evolve Excellence™ with zero money investment. My experience, network and skills were my initial investments. Through projects I grew Evolve Excellence and also support our cause i.e. building shelter home for destitute single mothers and their children.

TCM: What effective strategies you have implemented/initiatives you have taken to achieve success?

Vahini: I believe working with effective strategies to focus on high quality products/profile delivery and give more than whatever the commitments are given to the clients. I also focus on increasing more products and keep on updating and upgrading you, team, business methods and service. We also aim to reach out for international clients and offer online mentoring programmes.

TCM: How do you define success? What is your take on the ways to achieve long term success?

Vahini: When we strive for excellence to continual evolution we taste success in every turn. For me success is a mindset not a status because we cannot stay in that success zone all the time. In business, success and failure are both sides of same coin. While success acknowledges hard work and boost your energy, failure motivates you to be resilient, in not to give up. For long term victory, take some time out, analyze, strategize and be choosy in creating core team who understand and believes in your vision. Experiment, change the strategy when and where required and ensures every new strategy keeps you moving ahead.

TCM: Please tell us about your future plans.

Vahini: We have been working strategically to empower the business and have a vast plan for the future. Few of the plans are below:

  • To launch United Nations Entrepreneurial project in 2017 in Asian region, making India as center hub
  • With Evolve Excellence™ – to expand its operation if we could identify right sources
  • With VR Oneness Foundation, submitted shelter home project proposal to Union Minister of Telangana Govt. to help us submit it to Smt. Menaka Gandhi to make it as a pilot project.

TCM: Do you think your personal life is affected by your professional life?

Vahini: Not really, because I am working on my vision which is my passion. So for me there is no separate personal and professional life. Above that my son and team are very supportive.
