What is the National Safety Council?

The National Safety Council (NSC) was established by the Government of India on March 4th, 1966, with the primary objective of promoting safety, health, and environmental awareness (SHE) nationwide. It operates as a non-profit organisation under specific legal frameworks.

The NSC conducts various activities to achieve its objectives. These include organising training programs, conferences, and workshops, as well as providing advisory services such as safety checks and hazard assessments. Additionally, the NSC develops educational materials to disseminate information on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) issues.
